The Sons of This Age and the Sons of That Age

The sons of this age are children of darkness, but the sons of that age are children of light. All those who have been born in this world have been children of darkness because they all have come from the first man Adam.
The true light, the bright Morning Star that gives light to every man has risen in this world of darkness. This light is Jesus Christ. It is written, "That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1:9-13).
However, the Bible says, "The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it." (John 1:5). The children of darkness hate the children of light. It is written, "Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed." (John 3:20).
Therefore, the Lord, the true light, said, "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first." (John 15:18). And also, "If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you." (John 15:19).
All the kingdoms of the world have been given to Satan, the devil who holds the power of darkness. It is written, "The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, 'I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to.'" (Luke 4:5-6). As the devil said, the first world was given to the devil, because the Son of Light came into the world.
The Bible says about it, "We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true--even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life." (1 John 5:19-20).
And so, the Lord said, "I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world." (John 17:14-16).
And also, the Bible says about it, "With Your hand from men, O LORD, From men of the world who have their portion in this life, And whose belly You fill with Your hidden treasure. They are satisfied with children, And leave the rest of their possession for their babes. As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness." (Psalms 17:14-15).
Therefore, the Bible says about the children of that world, who went before us, "These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return. But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them." (Hebrews 11:13-16).
The sons of this age hate the light and are evil, but the sons of that age love the light and are righteous. It is written, "Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother's were righteous. Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you." (1 John 3:12-13).
Therefore, the Bible says, "And Jesus answered and said to them, "The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection." (Luke 20:34-36). The sons of that age are not in the flesh (darkness) but in the Spirit (light). Thank you, Lord.
